About holding funds

Fund holding is the freezing of a certain payment amount on the buyer’s bank card until the full debiting of funds from the account is authorized.

The VIA payment system provides its partners with the opportunity to use methods of holding funds to provide services to their clients and partners when it is necessary to check and reserve a certain amount on the bank card of the client, consumer of goods and services before approval of payment or cancellation.

For example, when to rent a car, it is necessary to invest a certain amount for a guarantee, which is returned to the client minus the amount of payment for the rental period, the partner needs to reserve the specified amount on the client’s bank card. And after the service is provided, confirm the real cost of providing the service to withdraw funds from the client’s account.

For holding and managing funds, the following methods are available:

1. Request to hold a certain amount from the client’s specified bank card;
2. Confirmation of withdrawal of funds from the held amount;
3. Cancellation of holding funds;
4. Obtain information about the status of the transaction.
